LB915 Draws Support of GI EDC/Chamber

LB915 from District 34 State Senator Loren Lippincott was brought before the Legislature’s Urban Affairs Committee on Tuesday.  It would change the number of authorized inland port districts from five to six. Lippincott believes Grand Island’s enhanced Highway 30, solid rail infrastructure, and air service would make the community a worthy Inland Port candidate. Mary Berlie of the Grand Island Area Economic Development Corporation and the Chamber spoke as a proponent. Officials from North Platte opposed the bill.
