Northwest Football Comes Back To Stun Norris, 23-22

(Grand Island, NE) - It would come down to late-game heroics again for the Northwest football team for the second week in a row as the Vikings defeated Norris 23-22 for a first-round playoff victory.

The Titans would take a 22-16 lead late in the fourth quarter on a 20-yard touchdown pass along with a 2-point conversion. Giving Northwest one last chance to go down and tie the game with a touchdown and then take the lead with a point-after. The Vikings, with 56 seconds left in the game, would hit a double pass from Blake Wissing to Bryson Walker to then Gavin Burt to tie the game. A Walker PAT would then give Northwest the lead. The last chance for the Titans would come up short, and Northwest would win their first playoff game since 2022.

With the win, Northwest (8-2) will travel to Gretna (10-0) to take on the Dragons next Friday night in a Class B quarter-final matchup with a time to be determined.
