Spring Mural Event to Highlight Student Art and Community Collaboration
Grand Island, Neb. — The public is invited to take part in a Kids Kingdom mural reveal event this on Monday, April 20 at 4 p.m. at Stolley Park. The event will celebrate the creativity and collaboration of local students and partners.
The project began when the Acts of Kindness (AOK) Ladies approached local schools after noticing that several murals at Kids Kingdom had become worn and faded over time. Over the past six months, students stepped in to reimagine the space, working together to design and paint new murals that reflect their creativity while helping revitalize a well-loved community area.
The public celebration will include the DC Diplomat student group from Walnut Middle School, Grand Island Central Catholic students, participating teachers, community partners and Grand Island Parks & Recreation staff. Light refreshments will also be provided.
Brief remarks will be given to recognize and thank the students for their work and contributions to the mural refresh project. The event is open to the public, and community members are encouraged to attend and support the students and the arts in Grand Island.
